Real-Time VFX Sketch #57 Animated

This is the artwork that I submmited for the VFX Real-Time VFX Sketch #57 Animated. It was my first challenge and I had a lot of fun doing it. We were supposed add cool effects to this animation, that has been provided by Niloofar Navaei and the rig used for this was provided for free by Jonathan Cooper. My idea was give a powerful dark/arcane magic feeling for the action.

For the ground shatter I made a RBD simulation in Houdini and exported to unity as a VAT (Vertex Animation Texture), VAT only uses textures and shaders to achieve the visuals on the GPU, it has a much lighter performance impact on the CPU
